This 8-day tour takes you on a journey of discovery Berber villages of the Moroccan High Atlas, with the'ascent of Jbel Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa at 4,167 metres.
You'll cross spectacular mountain scenery, meet local people and discover their traditional way of life. The ascent of Mount Toubkal, although optional, is the highlight of this trek. This level tour medium is accessible to anyone in good physical condition.

Detailed Itinerary - 8 Days
Marrakech
Arrival at Marrakech airport, welcome and transfer to your accommodation. Check-in and overnight in Marrakech.
Marrakech - Asni Imioughlad (1500m) - Col de Tacht (2200m) - Tiziane (1800m)
Departure from Marrakech to the village of Imioughlad. First day of hiking, crossing the Tacht pass and descending to the village of Tiziane. 4h30 walk.
Tiziane - Col Mzik (2400m) - Armed (1900m)
Hike through magnificent scenery, climbing the Mzik pass and enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding valleys. Descent to the village of Armed. 5h30 walk.
Armed - Sidi Chamharouch - Toubkal refuge (3207m)
Day's approach to the Toubkal refuge via the Sidi Chamharouch sanctuary, an important pilgrimage site in the region. Night at the refuge. 5-hour walk.
Ascent of the Toubkal summit (4167m) - Descent to Armed
Early morning departure for the ascent of Jbel Toubkal (optional). Exceptional panoramic view from the summit. Descent to the refuge and on to Armed. 8h walk.
Armed - Tizi Tamaterte (2200m) - Ouanskra
Cross the Tizi Tamaterte pass and discover new landscapes. Arrival at the village of Ouanskra for the night. 5-hour walk.
Ouanskra - Tamguiste - Ikis - Col Aguersiwal (2000m) - Return to Marrakech
Last day of hiking through the villages of Tamguiste and Ikis, crossing the Aguersiwal pass. Return by vehicle to Marrakech. 3h30 walk.
Airport transfer
Breakfast and transfer to Marrakech airport for your return flight, with wonderful memories of this Berber adventure.

This is a medium-level hike. It is accessible to anyone in good physical condition who enjoys regular exercise. Walking days vary from 3h30 to 8h, with both positive and negative gradients.
No, climbing Toubkal is optional. Those who do not wish to make the ascent can stay at the refuge or take an alternative hike in the surrounding area with a guide.
We recommend that you bring: hiking boots, warm clothing (even in summer), windbreaker, backpack, headlamp, sun cream, sunglasses and water bottle. A detailed equipment list will be provided on reservation.
This hike is possible all year round, but the most pleasant periods are spring (April-June) and autumn (September-November). In summer, temperatures can be high, and in winter, climbing Toubkal may require the use of crampons.
