Tour description
Less than 100 km south of the central High Atlas in Morocco, dominating the Draâ and Dades valleys, stands the Jbel Saghro or Sarhro, eastern part of the Anti-Atlas, culminating at 2,612 m altitude. The Djabel Sahgro is the driest part of the Anti-Atlas range.
Discover lunar landscapes of plateaus, peaks, canyons, forests of pitons, immensity of space. In this chaos of black rock, villages are few and far between, consisting of a few small houses surrounded by a clump of palm or almond trees.
This is the land of Aït Atta (or Hatta), breeders of sheep and goats who change pastures once or twice a month to practice transhumance, especially in the summer when they leave these mineral lands transformed into burning desert, to go north and stay in the khaima, traditional nomad tent, made from thin strips of goat's hair.
